PCMA Rus plant produced an engine test sample
According to the official page of the company in social networks, PCMA Rus in Kaluga (a joint venture of Stellantis and Mitsubishi) produced the first test sample of the DV6 engine.
On February 16, in accordance with the plan, the first DV6 EL engine was produced at PCMA Rus. This is a completely new stage for the plant.
There is no other information of the PCMA Rus project.
In January, company representatives announced about the installation of the engine production line. The equipment was delivered from China.
In addition, at the end of last year, the company installed equipment for a test bench. It will be used to check the quality of DV6 engines types (Euro-5 and Euro-6 emission class).
In 2019, PCMA Rus signed a special investment contract (SPIC) with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, which will allow the company to expand production. The General Director of PCMA Rus Nicolas Febve commented signing of the SPIC that they are ready to expand the model range, continue to invest, increase localization, establish exports and produce more.
PCMA Rus plant is located in the Rosva Industrial Park near Kaluga. Investments in the project amounted to 550 million euros. Since July 2012, the company has been producing cars on a full production cycle. Currently, the plant produces Peugeot 408, Citroen C4 sedan, Opel Zafira, Mitsubishi Outlander, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, as well as commercial vans Peugeot Expert and Citroen Jumpy and passenger minibuses Citroen SpaceTourer and Peugeot Traveller. The production capacity of the company (two assembly lines) allows to produce up to 125 thousand cars per year.
Stellantis was formed by the merger of the Italian-American company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and French company Groupe PSA.
