Renault Arkana is in Europe: amazing price
2.5 years after the world premiere Renault began selling the Arkana cross coupe in Europe. The price of the new car surprised: the basic Arkana in Germany costs 27,850 euros (2.46 million rubles) and the price of the top version with the R. S. Line package exceeds 35 thousand euros (3.1 million rubles).
Double price difference by comparison with the Russian Renault Arkana (from 1.225 million rubles) can be simply explained: in Europe they sell Arkana which is based on the modern CMF-B platform and is equipped with power units. The European Arkana has no conventional atmospheric engines: only E-Tech hybrids or a TCe turbo engine.
The basic Renault Arkana is equipped with 1.33 TCe with a capacity of 140 hp, which works in conjunction with a 12-volt starter-generator and a preselective "robot" EDC. The hybrid Arkana is structurally identical to the Clio E-Tech: a pair of electric motors and a three-shaft transmission without clutch and synchronizers assist the 1.6 liter atmospheric engine. However, the drive unit has no alternative — on the front axle.
The European top version Arkana interior is really different from the Russian one: there is a digital dashboard, a portrait-oriented touchscreen multimedia system, gear shift paddles, an electromechanical parking brake. Also, the crossover has an adaptive cruise control, lane control system, assistant for blind spot monitoring and automatic braking system.
In Germany, Arkana has become one of the most expensive Renault models. The starting price of the cross coupe is so high that only the Megane R.S. and the Talisman business family are more expensive. In part, the pricing policy is explained by the assembly place: crossovers assembled at the Renault Samsung plant in South Korea will be delivered to Europe.
