The start of TAURUS cars mass production

Yelabuga, May 31. - Russian President Vladimir Putin announced (via a video call mode) the start of TAURUS cars mass production. The symbolic button of the production start at the plant in the SEZ "Alabuga" (Republic of Tatarstan) was pressed by the Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the General Director of Aurus LLC Adil Shirinov, the General Director of the Rostec Sergey Chemezov, the Managing director of the Emirate Fund Tawazun Abdullah Al Jaabari.

"A large number of Russian equipment suppliers were involved in equipping the plant - up to 50% in value terms, the production IT systems were fully developed by Russian companies", stressed Denis Manturov.

About 2 billion rubles were invested in the production, logistics and IT equipment. At the first stage of production, the Senat sedan will be produced, later the Komendant SUV will be added to the model line. The new production facilities are designed to produce up to 5 000 cars per year.

"KAMAZ trucks are known all over the world. I am sure that AURUS will be known as well as KAMAZ", said Rustam Minnikhanov.

"We are sure that our brand products will be appreciated not only by Russian, but also by international customers. In 2021-2030, about 70% of the produced AURUS models are planned to be sold at foreign markets, primarily in the countries of the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa)", said Adil Shirinov.

Denis Manturov stressed that until today, there were no cars on hydrogen fuel in the world of the same class as AURUS. He also mentioned that the Ministry of Industry and Trade focuses on hydrogen in the future.

Previously, AURUS brand cars were produced in the format of a small series at the facilities of SSC RF FSUE NAMI.
